Barbie... Kenough said? Seriously, though... I sell social media background templates &, with a smashing success like Barbie, what such store is complete without Barbie-inspired templates? In creating each one, it was my goal to create backgrounds that would remind people of 80s/90s Barbie & Ken.
The balloon room is a recreation of a photo from Pexels.com. I liked the concept, but didn't really want to keep the giant doll box. I also wanted to create a corner--reminiscent of Glossier's showrooms. It was said that their goal in designing their stores was to create spaces where people wanted to spend time. Each area was designed to be "Instagram-ready."
Likewise, in creating the next 4, my primary question was what Barbie's house would look like if it were a real house. The color scheme was a given; but, I chose to tone it down "a bit"--make it classy, but still very much Barbie. Barbie is independently wealthy, so the amazing Malibu view was also a given. The shuttle "technically" belongs to NASA; but, what's a harmless afternoon spent decorating...?
At some point, growing up, I had a Barbie car just like the one featured. It took a bit; but, I managed to find a real version. Do you know how many models of Mustang convertibles there are...? I'm pretty sure that my dolls also had that model of skate; but, it's been a while, so I'm not 100% sure. I'm pretty sure that they didn't have those clothes; but, who didn't want the dresses, whether doll-size or human size?
